Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM. If you expect to arrive outside regular reception hours (approx. 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM), please contact us in advance and we will arrange after-hours access. Early check-in may be available subject to room availability — enquire at time of booking.
Check-out
Check-out is by 10:00 AM. Late check-out may be available on request — please speak with reception on the morning of departure. A late check-out fee may apply.
Payment
Accepted methods
We accept Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS, and cash. Payment is required on arrival unless a credit card pre-authorisation has been arranged at time of booking.
Best price guarantee
Book direct — by phone or through our website — and you will always receive the lowest available rate. Third-party booking fees are never passed on to direct guests.
Cancellation
Standard reservations
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled arrival date receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours of arrival may incur a charge equivalent to one night's accommodation.
Group bookings & events
Group bookings (5+ rooms) and reservations for race days or local events may be subject to a non-refundable deposit and separate cancellation terms. These will be confirmed at time of booking.
No-shows
Guests who do not arrive and have not cancelled will be charged for the first night of the reservation.
Smoking
Non-smoking property
The Furlong Motel is entirely non-smoking — including all rooms, covered walkways and the courtyard. A designated smoking area is available at the perimeter of the property.
Cleaning fee
Evidence of smoking inside a room will result in a cleaning surcharge of up to $250 to cover specialist cleaning and lost revenue during remediation.
Pets
Welcome — by arrangement
We love pets and are happy to accommodate well-behaved dogs and other small pets. Please notify us at time of booking so we can allocate a suitable room and prepare the courtyard.
Pet fee
A flat fee of $20 per stay applies for guests with pets, to cover additional cleaning. Pets must be supervised at all times and are not permitted on furniture or bedding.
Damage
Guests are responsible for any damage caused by their pets. Additional cleaning or repair costs will be charged accordingly.
Parking
Free car parking
Every room has a dedicated car park directly outside. No booking required — simply pull up to your door. Parking is included in the room rate at no additional cost.
Truck & large vehicle parking
We have 20+ dedicated truck and large-vehicle parks on site, making The Furlong one of the most driver-friendly motels in South Taranaki. Contact us to confirm availability for oversize vehicles.
Room Care & Damage
Condition on departure
Guests are asked to leave rooms in the condition in which they were found. We do not charge for normal wear and tear, but significant damage, theft of property, or excessive cleaning requirements will be charged to the guest's account.
